Nutritional Therapy

What is Functional Nutritional Therapy?

As a FNTP, I do not diagnose or treat but rather evaluate your nutritional needs and make bio-individual* dietary and lifestyle recommendations.
*bio-individual: because each of us are unique and there is no “one-size fits all” template that gets applied.

Dysfunction in the body showing up as discomfort takes time to develop – doesn’t just happen overnight (although often we might think it does!) and balancing the dysfunction and restoring balance also takes time. It is not a quick fix but a journey.

If you are wondering what nutrition has to do with your current health concerns, here’s a simple explanation. It all comes down to cells. When our cells are nutrient deficient we go on a downward spiral. (Source: NTA) My role as a FNTP is to assist clients re-establish their cellular health. Part of this is understanding the warning signs and signals our body gives us every day about underlying dysfunction.

I work on 6 nutritional foundations as follows:
– Properly prepared, nutrient dense foods

– Digestion

– Blood sugar regulation

– Fatty acids

– Minerals

- Hydration

Also I look at you as a WHOLE; your diet, lifestyle, sleep, movement, stressors and more!

Why work with an FNTP?

The world of nutrition professionals is vast, and finding the right practitioner for your health journey can be overwhelming. Many nutritionists focus on symptoms and apply standard protocols, but as a FNTP, my approach goes deeper.

What Makes FNTP Different?
Unlike conventional or even holistic nutritionists who often rely on template protocols based on symptoms or lab results, Functional Nutritional Therapy is about asking “why” at every level. While I do use functional lab testing, I don’t stop at identifying imbalances like gut dysbiosis or food sensitivities—I go further to understand what allowed those imbalances to develop in the first place. I look at:
✔ Your body’s terrain – What internal and external factors contributed to dysfunction?
✔ Root causes beyond the lab – Are lifestyle, environmental, or emotional stressors playing a role?
✔ Long-term healing, not just symptom relief – Preventing recurring issues rather than offering short-term fixes.
By addressing the underlying mechanisms of imbalance rather than just the symptoms, I help my clients achieve sustainable health, rather than temporary relief. If you’re ready to move beyond one-size-fits-all solutions and truly understand your body, I’m here to help.
