Overnight Oats

clear glass jar

Do you like your oats hot or cold?

I have had days where I did not want to cook oats or did not want to have them hot due to hot weather but I hadn’t put much thought on having them cold and not having to cook them!

I now love to make it at night and top it off with what I desire or have available in the morning. You can make it dairy free by using nut/soy/other milk and gluten free by using gluten-free oats!

This keeps me full for 4 to 5 hours as it has a good balance of protein, carbs & fat with omega 3 and many other nutrients from your nutrient-dense real foods.

Servings- 2 at my home

So what do we need?

  • Rolled oats (organic if available)- 1/2 cup
  • Milk (whichever you prefer)- 2/3 cup
  • Plain Greek yoghurt (or dairy free)- 1/3 cup
  • Chia seeds- 1 tbsp
  • Toppings (below)

What to do?

Add to mason jar and mix well. Refrigerate overnight.

When ready to eat, top it off with:

  • Apple (diced), cinnamon powder & mixed nuts/seeds
  • Banana (chopped), peanut butter +/- mixed nuts/seeds
